US bourse advanced on Tuesday as market optimism over a potential agreement from US-Iran negotiations offset geopolitical uncertainties. The S&P 500 gained 81 points, or 1.2%, to end at 6,967, less than 1% away from its 52-week peak. The Nasdaq once again led the broader market, soaring 455 points, or 2%, to settle at 23,639. The DJIA closed up 317 points, or 0.7%, at 48,535.
Techs continued to drive the market higher. Oracle (ORCL.US) rallied 4.7%, extending its more than 12% surge in the previous trading day. NVIDIA (NVDA.US) and Palantir (PLTR.US) also shot up 3.8% and 2.5%, respectively.
Although US-Iran talks collapsed over the weekend, US President Donald Trump said both sides remain willing to make a deal, keeping market sentiment resilient.
Among earnings-related movers, Wells Fargo (WFC.US) dived more than 5% after delivering results miss. JPMorgan (JPM.US) posted better-than-expected earnings but lowered its NII guidance, putting slight pressure on its share price.
